Hey everyone we hope you all had a great pride and passed all your exams. Here is the committee for the next college year. The positions of PRO and Events Officer will be given to first year students when the new term starts.

AGM

Hey everyone, our AGM is Wednesday, April 28th at 7PM, Meeting Room 2, Second Floor Students Centre, CIT, Rossa Avenue. If anyone is thinking of running for next year’s committee then please put your name forward for the committee position you are interested in on the night.

Committee positions which will be decided by member vote are: Chairperson, Events Officer, Public Relations Officer, Secretary and Treasurer. The votes will then be counted by a neutral party.

CIT LGBT Wins ‘Most Improved Irish Society’

Hey everyone at the National College Society Awards show last Wednesday in Athlone we won the ‘Most Improved Irish Society’.
To celebrate this amazing achievement there will be a joint celebration of CIT LGBT, International Students Society and Photographic Society Wednesday 21st, Exhibition centre, D Block, CIT, Rossa Avenue @ 7:00 pm.
Drinks and refreshments will be available as well as music with the party continuing in town afterwards. Hope to see you all there and all are welcome.

Movie Night

Hey everyone tomorrow Wednesday 24th March we are showing the movie “Shelter” in Meeting Room 2, Second Floor Students Centre, CIT, Rossa Ave, Bishopstown at 18:30. The movie shows a man who overcomes his hectic life to fall in love with his friend’s brother in this engaging drama. SHELTER stars Brad Rowe (BILLY’S HOLLYWOOD SCREEN KISS) and Tina Holmes (EDGE OF SEVENTEEN). Hope to see you all there.

Hey everyone I have the pleasure to announce that at the CIT Society Awards Show last night we won the “Best Improved Society Award” and Chairperson Brian Westfall won an “Individual Award” :)

MarriagEquality TD Lobbying Workshop

CIT LGBT in association with Cork Action for Equality presents:

MarriagEquality TD Lobbying Workshop

(Meeting point is the Library Lobby at CIT, Rossa Ave at 18.30)

Special speaker: Ms. Fionnagh Nally (Concern Ireland & MarriagEquality).

The workshop will be largely based upon the current Amnesty Ireland TD training and members of Cork Action For Equality will be there to discuss TD lobbying tactics and answer questions.
The workshop is aimed at imparting some of the knowledge and skills for TD lobying. The MarriagEquality “Out To Your TD” campaign will feature prominently.

Refreshments will be provided and MarriagEquality will answer any questions you may have. Hope to see everyone there and all are welcome.

Movie Night at Linc

Hey everyone this week we are having a movie night at Linc (lesbians in cork) who have very kindly offered to let us use their centre at White Street, tomorrow Wednesday 3rd March at 8PM. We’ll have a few movies on the night for you to pick your favourite, hope to see you all there.

Bowling Night

Hey everyone this week we are having a game of bowling in the Mardyke bar, Sheares Street at 9PM, Wednesday 24th February. Hope to see everyone there, all welcome.

Mental Health Talk

Hey everyone this week we are joined by Toddy from Linc (Lesbians in Cork) for a talk on LGBT mental health. The talk is due to start at 7.30 so if everyone could be at Meeting Room 1, 2nd floor students centre, Bishopstown at 7.00PM, Wednesday 17th February please. Light refreshments will be served after the talk, hope to see everyone there and all are welcome.

Welcome back meeting

Hope everyone is refreshed after the holiday break but with the stress of waiting to hear on the exam results we have just the thing! Our welcome back party is Wednesday Feb 3rd at 9PM in Chambers bar, Washington Street. We hope to see everyone there and as always all are welcome.
