Committee Change
Hey everyone, we’ve had a change in our committee with Ciaran stepping down as Treasurer and Michael taking over the position.
Many thanks to Ciaran for all his work over the term and welcome to our new Treasurer Michael.
LGBT Carol Service
Hey everyone, there is an LGBT Carol Service “A celebration of welcome” taking place at St Annes, Shandon on Mon 20th Dec at 8PM.
It is a non denominational service. There will be two choirs an organist and solo artist Darragh McGann providing plenty of music for the service. We will also be giving a reading at the service and all are welcome to attend.
Ice Skating
Hey everyone in conjunction with CIT Floppy Society we are planning on an ‘Ice Skating night’ Tuesday 7th December @5PM, Cork On Ice, Mahon Point Shopping Centre, Mahon.
Tickets are €7PP which includes transporation to and from the event.
Payment will be taken at the Info Desk in the Main Canteen Tue 23rd-Thu 25th November @ 1-2PM.
All are welcome.

CIT LGBT Nominated for Rebel Award
Hey everyone, we are delighted to announce that we have been nominated for Gaycork.com Peoples Choice Award at the Cork Rebel Awards.
The Awards take place on Fri 12th Nov @ 7.30PM in the Imperial Hotel, South Mall, Cork.
CIT LGBT thank all those who voted for us to be nominated and to the Rebel Awards Committee for meeting with us to explain the Rebel Awards to our committee.

Outlook – Cork Film Festival
Hey everyone, Outlook the LGBT section of the Cork Film festival is running Fri 12th-Sun 14th Nov with the launch party on Thursday 11th Nov @ 6PM in The Other Place, South Main St.
Some of our members are interested in attending this documentary:
Stonewall Uprising which shows the beginings of the LGBT rights movement.

Cork Rebel Awards
The Cork Rebel Awards were set up in 2009 as collaboration between the Cork Gay Project, Cork Pride, GayCork.com & L.inC in order to acknowledge LGBT people and organisations for their contributions, work and support to the Cork LGBT community.
This year’s awards show is being held on Friday 12th November at 7.30pm in the Imperial Hotel, South Mall, Cork. Tickets are €25 which include a three course meal and light entertainment at dinner and can be purchased at The Other Place Resource Centre on South Main Street.
As a fundraiser for the event there will be a raffle on the night, tickets at €2 each or €5 for 3 tickets with four prizes to be won:
1. Weekend break in Trident Hotel, Kinsale with dinner for two.
2. One night stay in Hayfield Manor Hotel, Cork & dinner voucher for Brick Oven restaurant, French’s Quay, Cork.
3. 6 month membership for Gay Set and Match match-making service.
4. 2 personal training sessions with One2OneFitness & €50 voucher for Unforgettable Flowers.

Pink Training
Hey everyone, Pink Training is on Fri 12th-Sun 14th November in UCC this year.
Workshops include: sexual empowerment, body image of young gay/bi men, trans 101, sexual health (all sexualities), heteronormativity, campaigning on LGBT issues, running an effective lgbt society, the British LGBT campaign, a parents perspective on coming out, bisexuality awareness and conflict resolution, to name but a few.
If anyone needs to register & pay their €5 then you can do so on Tue 26th October 12-2PM with Cathal or Mark in the Societies Office.
The Payment & Registration Deadline is Tuesday so if you want to go be sure to turn up on Tuesday.
CIT LGBT Wins ‘Most Improved Irish Society’
Hey everyone at the National College Society Awards show last Wednesday in Athlone we won the ‘Most Improved Irish Society’.
To celebrate this amazing achievement there will be a joint celebration of CIT LGBT, International Students Society and Photographic Society Wednesday 21st, Exhibition centre, D Block, CIT, Rossa Avenue @ 7:00 pm.
Drinks and refreshments will be available as well as music with the party continuing in town afterwards. Hope to see you all there and all are welcome.
